Cookie notice
Last updated: [To be completed: date]
Draft structure: the text must be completed and reviewed by a legal adviser before publication.
The website has been designed to work without profiling cookies and without third-party advertising or social media services. Visit statistics are collected directly by the website, anonymously and in aggregate form, without cookies. For this reason no consent is requested: on the first visit only a short information notice is shown, which also allows visitors to exclude their visits from the count.
Technical cookies
The public pages of the website do not set cookies. The reserved area, used only by the people who manage the website, sets a technical session cookie required for access, which is deleted when the browser is closed. The hosting provider may use tools that are strictly necessary for security and protection against abuse, for which consent is not required.
[To be verified: any technical cookies set by the hosting provider and by the form’s anti-spam system (for example Cloudflare Turnstile, if enabled)]
Anonymous visit statistics
To understand how the website is used, each page sends some information about the visit to our server: the page opened, the referring website, the type of device, the browser and operating system, the browser language, the reading time, how far the page was scrolled and some actions, such as clicking on an email address or submitting a form. At the time of the visit, the country and, for Italy and Switzerland, an approximate region and city are derived from the IP address.
The IP address is not stored. To tell visitors apart, an anonymous code is calculated with a key that changes every day and is then deleted: it is not possible to identify the person or to link visits made on different days. The data remain on the website’s server, are not shared with third parties, are only viewed in aggregate form and are deleted automatically after 25 months.
Visits are not counted if the browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal or if visitors choose to exclude them, as explained below.
Information stored in the browser
The website stores in the browser (localStorage), without sending it to anyone, only a few technical choices: that the privacy notice has been read, any request not to count visits and, on the Vesper pages, display preferences (high contrast and larger text). They can be deleted at any time from the browser settings.
Preferences
You can decide whether to include your visits in the anonymous statistics. The choice applies to this browser.
For more information on how data are processed, please see the privacy notice.
